The Road to Energy Efficiency Upgrade of 110kV Oil immersed Power Transformer Backbone Equipment in Power Grid
110kV oil immersed power transformers are the backbone equipment of municipal power grids, usually used as main transformers in substations or step-up transformers in new energy power stations. As the fixed assets investment of the national power grid is expected to exceed 5 trillion yuan during the "15th Five Year Plan" period, this voltage grade product is ushering in a new round of growth cycle.
The current energy efficiency standards continue to tighten, and GB 20052 has put forward stricter requirements for short-circuit impedance and load loss of 110kV products. Enterprises with first level energy efficiency design capabilities have a competitive advantage in State Grid bidding. Low loss design requires optimizing the iron core structure and winding arrangement, while controlling no-load and load losses, and has high requirements for electromagnetic design capabilities.
High short-circuit resistance is another core indicator. When a 110kV transformer experiences a short circuit in the system, it needs to withstand a huge electric force impact, and insufficient mechanical strength of the winding can cause deformation or even burnout. Manufacturing enterprises enhance their short-circuit resistance by adopting self-adhesive transposition wires, strengthening winding compression processes, optimizing ampere turn balance, and other measures.
From the demand side, the three driving forces support the market. One is the increased investment in the domestic power grid, and the construction of ultra-high voltage and supporting substations has driven the bidding volume of high-voltage transformers. The second is the demand for overseas power grid renovation. More than 50% of the power grid equipment in the United States has been in operation for more than 25 years, and about 40% of the distribution networks in Europe have been in operation for more than 40 years. The delivery time of local main transformers is as long as 2 to 3 years, creating an export window for Chinese enterprises. The third is the integration of new energy into the grid, and the construction of booster stations in wind and photovoltaic bases directly drives the demand for 110kV products.
The industry competition mode is shifting from simply exporting equipment to overseas production capacity layout, localized manufacturing, and upgrading technology cooperation. Enterprises with global delivery capabilities and localized operational experience are expected to continue to benefit from this cycle.
